Report development: How to give report title from custom labels ?

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 377
Hi guys,

When creating new SSRS Report, I need to put the title of my report, and I have created new label in my custom labelsID.

In the report's property, I enter the specific label like below:

However, turns out when the report run, it doesn't translate to my label description which I already stated.

I've read some thread that mentioned I need to restart SQL Reporting Service, although I'm not sure why ? but after restarted this is still happening.
I also tried following the way the auto field created in that report, by using this way of writing : Labels!@TEST:TST1100, still it will printed /as it is/
May I know how to get my label printed correctly ?

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Teevo,

Inside report designer, If you go to the title Label expression, it should be sth like this =Labels!@:TST1100

Also are you sure this label exists in the label file? if yes, maybe try clearing user cache (I mean Reset Usage data)
Another option, did you right click on the report in the solution and clicked deploy reports?

    Thanks,
    Layan Jweihan

    Hi Layan,

Yes, the labels exist. But anyway I tried to the standard first then, and using this one:

So I'm put this label Id in the report property's :

    But still I'm getting this:

For Reset Usage data, may I know which one I need to delete ? because I hesitant to clear all.

Btw, for the design, I'm choosing AutoDesign. So basically I cannot edit the design, right ?

    Thanks

    Hi Teevo,

I've mentioned to check the report designer label expression, I'm guessing this label exists in the report designer already right?
I've also mentioned to right click on the report and click deploy.

and regarding cache, just reset your usage data

    Hi Layan,

So, you mean I can't use AutoDesign, is it ?
Because there is no report designer in my menu ->

So we always need to use the Precision Design, instead ?

And for Deploy, yes every time I changed something I did Build again and Deploy reports.
    Thanks.

    Hi Teevo,

No you should be able to use AutoDesign. Initially I thought it's precision.

Did the reset usage data work or not?

And did u try to put the label in the format I suggested?

Also can you share the properties you have for AutoDesign1 please. Because there is title property there as well

    Thanks,
    Layan Jweihan

    Hi Teevo,

You should add the label like this =Lables!@Test:TST1100. After you change it try to redeploy your report, then try to restart the SSRS reporting service.

    Thanks,
