Customer tax registration is not found in the customer’s registration ids

Hello everyone, 
 
We have been using the tax calculation service for a few months now.
We noticed that the sales orders created in this entity for our Polish subsidiary do not contain the tax-exempt number.
They initially have the tax-exempt number populated (when they are in status Open), but when the picking list is created the tax-exempt number is removed and we get the following warning:
This is strange, as the tax-exempt number is initially populated on the orders.
We cannot find anything wrong with the setup.
 
Any advice on this?
