Hi, Does Ax has any existing method through which I can find or create a ledger dimension (Int64) by passing a segmented string of dimension values?
Hi,
is your question about AX2012 or Dynamics 365 for Finance?
It's for Dynamics 365 for finance.
Where exactly do you need it? Where does the string come from? Is it on a form? In data entity? Somewhere else?
Hi Nishant,
Take a look at LedgerAccountDimensionResolver class.
I am importing a file using a custom data entity. The file to be imported contains the account string, and the account string is an unmapped string field in data entity.
I am aware of this but I am bound to look for the other way round. I am importing a Free text invoice line, where only a default account (Main Account) can be mapped as ledger dimension. Now I am getting a complete account string from external system, from which I have to extract main account for ledger dimension field of Free text invoice line and default dimension for the free text invoice line default dimension. So if there is any such method which can given me ledger dimension from a ledger account string, that will be very helpful.
Take a look at my post below , It has example of what you are looking for
