Dear Community Member,
We are using dynamics GP2016 R2 with 50 users and we are focusing our GP security roles and tasks which currently not setup with best practcies and we need to follow the best standard security setup and then get them trained about complete tasks and roles of dynamics GP. Can anyone guide How can I indentify that which task and roles should I assign to payble invoicing clerk this is an one example.

Do you know who your assigned Dynamics GP partner is.
They would be a great resource to start with.
Use GP Power Tools Security Information window and it can tell you anything about your security configuration.
Just one of the many features in GPPT for working with and Extending the GP Security model with Deny based security.

Hi Jozy-
Like Mike said, this is really something to discuss and plan with your GP partner. Security is a complicated thing and you need to do it right to protect the data in GP. Your partner should have a complete understanding of the security workings of GP and be able to teach and train you.
If you do a few searches in the forum here, there are going to be lots of topics about this. One thing that helped me out a lot was to look at all of the built-in security roles and tasks and just get an understanding of them. You can do this with a few SmartLists. Victoria Yudin has SQL views for this too.
Microsoft has documented each role and task pretty well, so you know what you are looking at.
