Hi atef,
This can have a number of reasons:
- Are you running the master scheduling in Batch?
- How many workers are assigned for batch processing?
- What is the time fence in both environments?
- How many items do you have in both environments? Only standard items or also BOM items?
- Do you have fragmented indexes?
- Is the hardware the same?
- Is SQL server configuration the same?
- ...?
hi andre
-there is no batch running
-there is no workers assign for batch processing
- i don't know from where i can check fence time
- i have 1000 item in the first environments , second environment i have like 800 items
and also i have BOM items more than 300 item
- hardware not same
- sql server configuration not same
this issue with our customer so when iam testing with my machine it's working fine and also i check with different customer working fine also
hi andre i found fence time and it's same my environment
Hi - are you running master planning from the Net requirements form (for one item) or from Master planning > Periodic > Master scheduling? Can you see anything in the Master planning > Setup > Plans > Master plans > Session log that gives any indication on where the 10 minutes is being spent? Is there anything showing in Master planning > inquires > Processes > Unfinished scheduling processes?
hi tim
i run aster planning from form ( periodic )
in session log i fount this
and also i found in Unfinished scheduling processes (18 process)
Try cancelling and deleting the unfinished processes.
Then re-run and check your statistics again.
Tim
i cancel and delete the unfinished process and run master schedule again it's show in the log file it take 2 min is this normal or still to long for this statistics
I've never tried to make master scheduling run faster when it has a run time of 2 minutes - when we're thinking about speeding it up it's usually running for an hour or more. But the techniques are always the same. First check where the time is going. If you are spending a lot of time setting Action and Futures messages, is anyone actually reading them? Can you suppress them with the coverage group settings? Can you reduce the number of planned orders being generated? (So run for a shorter time fence, and use longer Period type coverage). Then there's all sorts of technical things you can do like SQL statistics.
But 2 minutes for a batch job? Sounds OK to me unless you're planning to run it frequently, and if you are, then think about Net change instead of Regeneration.
thanks you for reply i run as a batch and it tale 2 minutes and i think this ok for me thanks alot
I wish I could get mine on most sites to run in under 2 hours. I would take 10 minutes at the drop of a hat, but most have complex BOMs long lead times, forecasts, action and future messages across thousands of item coverage records which ultimately take time!
