9.0 missing navigation on tablet and phone apps

Posted on by 1,806 Most Valuable Professional

This question is with regards to the two apps, Dynamics 365 for Phones and Dynamics 365 for Tablets. I am also connecting to a CRM environment which is on the latest version: Version 1612 (9.0.0.3172) (DB 9.0.0.3172) online

After logging in on different devices I have noticed that there is zero navigation present, which you can see in the two screenshots below. I can still access different entities, but only if I drill through by clicking on different record links from dashboards or related entities.

In the reviews in the Google Play store I have seen a comment, and I quote: “Stupid MS App. Also doesn’t work with D365 V9.” I am hoping this isn't the case and there is some kind of work around because otherwise it's completely unusable.

have you come to any positive resolution with this? After updating to 9.0 our mobile apps stopped connecting entirely. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled (effectively removing the connection setup to our D365 instance). After reconnecting, everything began working again. I needed to rebuild the mobile app to suit our users (as the new default was different enough to send everyone into a tizzy) but everyone could connect.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Emre. I appreciate you confirming the latest version works for you. I tried another environment and got the same outcome as you. This means it's something in my other environment causing the absence of the navigation elements (where the gray bar is). I will do some trouble shooting!

    Hi Megan,

I'm using D365 online version 1612 (9.0.0.3172) (DB 9.0.0.3172) and also iPhone application without any exception or missing element.

"Gray bar" that bottom of your application normally has navigation elements.

I'm not sure but maybe this can helps you about your problem. Please enable debug for iPhone application.

"iOS Settings > Dynamics 365 for Phones > Enable Logging"
