Offline JavaScript and Offline Mobile Profile - avoiding script errors without internet?

Hi all,

Can you tell me your experience using JavaScript with Field Service Mobile (Dynamics) and the Offline Profile?

We're getting ready to roll our Offline Profile out, but I'm finding JavaScript to be a potential barrier to user adoption. It seems that a user must run through every JavaScript trigger once Online, before running into an Offline scenario - otherwise they get script errors. Anyone else find this to be true?

This should be fine for users who have good cellular/network access, however I'm concerned users who work only in spotty network areas will struggle to download all the JavaScript prior to working offline.

Also, If users "Reconfigure" it appears their JavaScript is wiped, so the whole process starts over again.

Is it not really as big a deal as I anticipate?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

Here is the official documentation about it:

Thank you, but this is not a verified answer.

I'm looking for experience from those who have implemented Offline JavaScript on FS Mobile forms and whether they find users must run through each JavaScript trigger once Online before losing network, or risk getting script errors.

Based on my understanding of the documentation: docs.microsoft.com/.../mobile-offline-capabilities, JavaScript on forms should not have to be downloaded online first, but I am finding this is not the case.

"Web resource configuration Offline support on Android Offline support on iOS

Web resource used on form handlers, form scripts and ribbon commands Supported (File names should be in lower case) Supported (file names need should be in lower case)"

Instead it is behaving like this:

"JavaScript files referenced within an HTML web resource Supported Partially supported: The web resource needs to be opened at least once you are in online mode so that it's cached by your browser. Then it is handled for lifetime and or availability."

Would like to confirm what the experience should be so I can better assist users.
