Hi All, Hope you all are doning well.

i am facing a strange problem, a custom SSRS report times out on a user with custom security role.

the same report runs fine with system admin role.

i have added all tables needed in custom privilege, also added process Report of DP in server methods but no luck yet.

what could be the possible reason you people see ?

SSRS reports have a 10 min time out, so if data extraction takes more than 10 min you will receive timeout error for not prepossessed reports. Are you sure that users with different security run this report with the same filter criteria on the same dataset?

Yes the criteria is same for users , one with system admin role and one custom security role.

Does this role have XDS applied ? It may slow things down significantly. Anyway I would recommend to change this report to preprocess as described in this blog blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../improving-ssrs-report-performance-using-new-r3-features-part-6 because preprocessed reports never time out.

    Hi Qaiser,

Can you tell more about the contents of this report? What data is being fetched? Are you using eXtensible data security, assigned organizations on security roles, global and company specific data or shared data using virtual company accounts? In that case, there are other queries used for the report when running with a security role or the system administrator role.

You can actually monitor what is being used as query and if this will indeed cause a time-out.
