To fix the current Item Inventory quantities:

You can perform a physical inventory count, and then use the Physical Inventory Journal to correct the quantities of the existing Items. See the following link:

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh168115(v=nav.90).aspx

To correct the overall process moving forward:

You'll need to use the 'Items Assembled to Order' process as described here at this link:

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh173266(v=nav.90).aspx

    Hi,

I've seen situation like this before, and it took a few long months of hard work to change the process and start using proper production.

Usually, if the production is not used then you have to adjust stock manually via Item Journals, using positive and negative adjustments. As it probably can't be adjusted on-line (otherwise you would use production), it can be done as stock count, preferably using stock count cycles and counting different stock on different days to reduce the load. If this approach is used, then adjustments can be posted using Physical Inventory Journals.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks Potts...

This is the right way as you recommended..

    but in our case..

System is working since years & for some reasons management is not willing to run complete Production cycle..

System is showing +ve stock of raw material purchased since years.. & -ve stock of sold items..

is there any other option to consume such raw-material stock and post inventory of sale items?

    Hi Ashish,

That is a big question !

From your description, it sounds like your Raw material (RM) is not consumed. And you are not creating stock of Sales Items to allow them to be shipped. Not good !

You need to create the sales items from the RM.

You can do this by using either Production Orders or Assembly Order. In both cases you create a Bill of Material (BoM) that specified the RM items to be 'consumed' and how many for each Sales Items.
Then you create either a Production Order or Assembly Order. These will reduce the RM stock and increase the Sales Items stock.

I hope this gets you started.
