I have set the price list validity for past dates but yet it can be used. why???

You can select the answers in the thread and filter the price lists that are not within the validity period through Javascript. However, this approach is a bit more cumbersome because there are multiple entities and forms that have price list lookup fields within them.
So my recommendation is to use Power Automate to deactivate price lists that are not in expiration once a day.
Go to https://us.flow.microsoft.com/, select the D365 environment. New a scheduled flow.
