Dynamics AX 2012 and Project Server integration

Hi,

Has anyone done or attempted the Dynamics AX 2012 and Project Server 2010 integration?

My installation and configuration of Project server 2010 with Dynamics AX 2012 went without a glitch as per the whitepaper for the same. All AX and Project server synchronization services are running fine without any issues too.

The Enable integration status for the Project server synchronization setup also comes to completed status.

Now, after I publish the Project mpp file to the project server, after a few minutes the Project is picked by the Ax synchronization service. The Integration log form inside AX shows as status "Idle", and the sync data line shows the status as "Waiting". Tried to invoke the batch processing, still the status does not change. The whitepaper and internet also does not have any details regarding this issue. It seems the service freezes and there are not any major event logs details in event viewer.

Tried to cancel and re-synchronize the integration service, still no response. Checked the release notes in CU2, it has no mention of this issue, as I am currently using AX 2012 with CU1.

I checked the back end and the AX sync tables in MS Project database has got populated, but the service has not brought it inside AX 2012.

So anybody aware of this issue and how we are able to force the integration to pick up the data from the Project database. Please do share your ideas and thanks for any help.

    Hi Praveen,

We are facing the similar issue (although between AX 2009 and Server 2007). Were you able to get the sync running? How did you go about debugging/resolving this issue. Please do advise. Thanks much!

    Hi All:

the integration status has been marked as completed, but now the issue is that batch jobs:

    - Updates for Microsoft Project Server integration.

    - Process transactions for synchronization service

are not picking the transactions for the synchronization from the sync store. I have assigned the batch group to the batch job and the batch jobs are running successfully at the desired time interval but the transactions (synchronization status) is still marked as Idle.

Any clue as to how the transaction will be picked up by the batch job.

    Regards

    Zubair
