Hi all
Hope that someone can shed some light on how to set up security roles for users belonging to different business units in the Marketing app.
I have 3 Business Units, A, B and C.
Users in unit A have access to all the data. The ones in business B have access to Accounts and Contacts and a few Custom entities. They will only have access to the Sales app.
Users in business C can have access to Contacts and a Custom Entity and they will be using the Marketing app.
I am ok with setting up the security roles for users in A & B, but is the users in C that I cannot figure it out.
The Marketing module comes with a lot of security roles where a lot of them have full access to the Contact and Account. I would like to grant users in C access to all the marketing features, but restrict their Contact and Account access.
How do I go about and do this?
Cloning the marketing roles is not an option, as they can get changed ever time there is an update.
Creating a new security role specifically for them based on all the marketing roles is not an option either, as there is a chance I miss some permissions, plus the update of the out of the box ones can create issues.
Please help. How do I deal with is?
Thank you
The recommendation is to copy the Role and customize accordingly for each BU.
Hi Yuko. Yes I have read about it, but it does not mention about what records they can view in the main Contacts view. Will it restrict their access from there as well?
Have you already explored using the Business Units scoping feature? docs.microsoft.com/.../business-units. Someone with advanced privilege will need to change the scope of the segmentation and customer journey to market beyond Contacts and Accounts under their Business Unit, but they can still perform basic marketing capabilities.
