Hi
My client is going to use dimensions heavily, they will be using 4 dimensions. That will mean that I have 2 Global dimensions and 2 shortcut dimensions.
I learned from other posts and from printing few reports that the Global dimensions will show up as filtering criteria in all reports and inquiry. but how about the Shortcut dimensions. My client wants to print all financial reports by one or more dimensions. is that doable via account schedules ? if yes, how is it done?
Also, can we enter budget using global shortcut dimensions too ? will that show up in account schedules if we are printing financial statements for dimensions budget versus actual?
Thanks
Ola
Only a few reports enables you to filter on shortcut dimensions.
FYI: We recently added the Set Dimensions Filter... capability to most ledger entry pages, so you can get a filtered dataset (to export to Excel for example).
You can do dimensional analysis using Account chedules in combination with Analysis Views. Analysis Views are data cubes with up to 4 dimensions (so in your case you can create an analysis view that contain all your dimensions and you will be able to report on those numbers in one account schedule, using the Dimension Filters.
