How to skip "Schedule Service Activity" ??

Hi CRM experts!

I have a question relating Service Activities. We have no use for the scheduling options because our industry is special machine construction and it is simply not possible to define services. Every service deployment is different. Still, we would like to add Service Activities to our Cases but WITHOUT scheduling a certain service.

What we did so far: we changed the field "service" to not mandatory and removed it from the Service Activity Form. I was hoping that we could simply fill in the form now and write our notes in it and save it. But unfortunately this causes an error. It seems like there is no way around scheduling this activity first.

Does anyone of you have an idea on how to skip/change this in a way that we simply can track our service deployments without going way into detail in creating a service first and scheduling it??

Any thoughts are highly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!
