On the Australian Dynamcs GP Install, when in the Company >> Options Window, select "Enable GST for Australia", this enables the ABN Lookup on the Vendor >> Option Window.
You Enter an ABN like "29 002 589 460" into the field, and the select the Lookup, this should take you the ABN Lookup site for the Vendor, but currently nothing happens since a few days ago.
The Australian Business Register has recently removed removed the HTTP protocol, which means the BAS_RPRT.DIC needs updating with the new protocol link.
The ABN and Super Fund Lookup services have now removed access to the unsecure HTTP get/post protocol. The services will point to the existing HTTPS endpoint only. Any users who attempt to retrieve data using HTTP get/post requests will receive no data.
This will apply to all versions of Dynamics GP.

Mick
Add the Dex.ini setting BAS_ABRDisableWebService=TRUE to disable the web service call and revert to the ABR web page.
For example: https://abr.business.gov.au/ABN/View/29002589460

Yeah and that's why I said if there is no update plan for this specific issue from Microsoft Development team, custom code can also done by registering the trigger on ABN lookup and opening up a custom form showing ABN details.
VS Tools was my guess as I can see there are many C# examples over the net for calling BAS lookup. :)
Hi Alma
The code that handles this is a VS Tools adding that works with the BAS code.
I originally wrote the BAS code, but the web service integration was developed after I handed the code over.
David
There is a Dex.ini setting which can be used to go back to opening the web page for the ABR, but to fix this properly will require an update from the Microsoft Development team.
You could go for customization for using ABN Lookup if there is no update plan for BAS_RPRT.DIC.
There is a pretty good information about using the ABN lookup service and variety of developing languages including Dexterity is available.
Hi Terry,
Please could you provide an update on this issue. My client is asking for an ETA when this will be fixed.
Thanks,
Craig Verster
Thanks Mick, I will review this information and see if it is a change we need to make on a future update of Dynamics GP.
Thanks
Terry
