Business process flow skipping back stages

Hi All,

We started using Dynamics CRM about a year ago and use the business process flow for our invoicing. The invoice process flow has 5 stages which work fine and never had issue going onto next stage etc.

However, on many occasions now we've noticed that records which we placed in the 4th stage (Invoice Outstanding) move back on their own to previous stages.. Usually the first stage - New invoice request, and sometimes second or third stages.

I also noticed that this usually happens when the original record has been edited in some way, for example, we opened the record and added comments, updated outstanding value, added credit control notes or used the COPY INCOME option.

Also, as soon as you open the record, it shows the correct stage again and resaves itself into the correct place.

We haven't been able to narrow it down as not all records, after being edited move back to a different stage.

Has anyone had else had this issue before?
