I am trying to customize the lookup to filter the value on the below lookups on specific dimensions. I want to get only those values that exist in my custom table which is integrated into an external system.
Override the lookup to filter the values of the lookup on financial dimensions
You must thing harder about what you actually want. Now you again talk about just showing or not showing the values, but we already clarified that this is not the complete requirement.
Also, it's not enough to think about just the data input, but you need to consider what should happen later. For example, dimension value A was valid a week ago when a sales order was created, but it doesn't exist in your table today. May I confirm the order today and or will I be forced to change the dimension to one of the currently existing in MyCustomTable? There are a plenty of scenarios like this where you lack any definition of the expected behaviour.
Also, please clarify what you mean by "my standard dimension values table". Do you mean the backing entity of a system dimension, such as ProjTable for the Project dimension?

Hmm, you're giving us your requirements bit by bit... It would be more efficient if you gave us more information about your requirements on the beginning.
Okay, so you agree that filtering the lookup wouldn't do what you need; your requirements are broader.
Now please tell us more about the lifecycle of the data. When you say that you want to show only currently available values, does it mean that values already used as financial dimensions can be removed from the table? That would be a problem. Please confirm this before we continue with more steps of the analysis.
Override the lookup to filter the values of the lookup on financial dimensions
I want to filter the values from the lookup and also from any other source (Upload or manual typing). There is an integration table that contains the values that change several times within a week. I only want to show the values that are currently available in that custom table. This is to be done only for three dimensions (Project, Property, and Unit). All other dimensions can stay as they are.

Do you really want to exclude other values just from the lookup? If so, they won't display in the lookup but they'll still be valid values, therefore users will be able to set them manually or used when importing records.
