Form not submitting contact or lead

Posted on by 532

We have installed d365 for marketing without a portal. Now we are facing a problem according to the documentation and the new update it must be possible to use forms at your own website.

When we click the send button there is no contact or lead created.

We have tried diffrent things and nothing is working.

Whitelist url

Connect form to marketing page

Set form to only leads

Set form to only contacts

Used a sample form

Used a new created form

Tried different fields

The form is showing on the webpage and also i can see in  visit times of the visitors but the submitting does not work.

Also there is no error information at all.

RE: Form not submitting contact or lead

    Hi all

I have got an answer from the support team. The problem was found in the the custom autonumbering and custom fields. Although you may not change the Marketing service user according to the documentation. You have to ajust this role and give it read an write acces to al the custom entities.

Hope this will help others with the same problem

    Hi Jetj25

I Tried to Host a form on a website which actually worked fine, also lead is generated.

Add New form page and Whitelist rules,

I would Suggest you to make sure you copy the code completely, please refer to the official document https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/marketing/embed-forms#embed-a-dynamics-365-for-marketing-from-on-an-external-page

    Hope it helps,

    Best Regards,

    Abhinav sunku.

RE: Form not submitting contact or lead

    Hi Jetj25,

I created a form hosting demo and got success result with the official tutorial:

    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/lystavlen/2018/05/29/how-to-embed-dynamics-365-for-marketing-forms-on-you-own-website/

    and my site is below:

Here some points that you may should care about:

    1. I added Form whitelist rule before I copied embed form code.(Keep the same step in official doc)

2I hosted my form in server root path(in index.html), so the whitelist rule name(domain name) can be matched with the page where the form is embed in. I believe this point is important, because as official doc said: your form will only work on those domains that you whitelist. You could check if your hosted form was in other html page. (In other word, you should confirm that your hosted form is embed in server's main/home page)

    3. Please check you've copied full embed form code, and I simply insert entire of them before body end tag.

    4. The new created contact/lead record will be found in All Contacts/Leads view instead of My Active Contacts/Leads.

    5. You should set the form type to Landing page if your were planning to create a new contact/lead record.

    Regards

    Clofly
