As the title says - how does one add tags to data entities? Seems super useful.
I see in Data Management > Export, that there are tags on some of our existing entities (this was partner provided, thus the tags are there, but we don't know how)
I assume that they're simply set in the Tags property on the entities.
You can verify it by either looking at the property of one of the entities, or you can utilize Dynamics 365 > Find tag references in Visual Studio.
Hi bbb0777,
Martin is correct. If you want to learn more, I will present about advanced scenarios for data entity development on the upcoming Urdu Hindi Bootcamp. That includes also how to get the application module, tags and category set so users can use that to find the correct data entity smoothly. My session will be on November 4.

Thanks. How does one (using the GUI) navigate to the entities to see the Tags property?
Can you explain your follow up question?
Thanks, I meant:
I can see the tags in my screenshot.
But where, on the Dynamics website, does one navigate to edit and/or confirm these are indeed tags on the entities?
I'm assuming Visual Studio isn't necessary, and there's somewhere under Modules > or Workspaces >, but may be off on that.
The tags are visible on the form you shared in your first screenshot. It is used for filtering purposes. There is no form with an overview of the entities including the tags.
Thanks, good to know.
The screenshot is from a Data Management job - but I can't edit the tags there.
Do you know where one can edit tags on entities?
A developer creating (or modifying) a data entity can define its tags. It's not for end users.
Right, and how would a developer do so? Is it exclusively something done via Visual Studio, or is there an interface within Dynamics itself? There are no already Dynamics-familiar developers at my work to pass this off to - those of us in IT are learning how to do things as we go.
Yes, the development environment for F&O is Visual Studio. You can deploy development environments from LCS.
Note that trying to learn the whole area of F&O architecture, development, deployment and so on by yourself is an extremely difficult task. Even companies with teams of relatively experienced developers struggle with F&O implementation, and trying to do it with no knowledge at all is a asking for huge problems for the whole companies using this implementation. Your company definitely should hire someone experienced, at least temporarily.
