Locked table using web services

Hi, I am using Dynamics NAV 2015 and I am using external applications that executes item journal lines. Sometimes I get this Error and I dont know how to fix it.  May be changing any timeout in configuration of SQL or NAV? 

The operation could not complete because a record in the Item Ledger Entry table was locked by another user. Please retry the activity.

    This error occours when a NAV transaction locks the table on SQL. You can't avoid this (if your WS launch a posting transaction while NAV is doing the same, the table is locked).

    You've to handle exception in your external application and retry.

    There might be a case when other users or processes (also customized processes) are locking the table as they are also using that. Try either to increase a time-out or play with MAXDOP settings in SQL.

    In your webservice codeunit  you can write the CAL code in a way to catch any posting error and see if it's locking error if it's then you can try and post it again  or return the error back to the external application.
