Setup Development Environment from Downloadable VHD

Hello guys,

I want to setup a standalone Development environment in my own Notebook. I have downloaded from LCS, all the VHD from menu "Downloadable VHD"

May I ask for guidance how to use it then ? how to setup all this ?

Hi both, thanks.

I've got an error while starting Dynamics AX Batch from services, does it because and related to the App register that Andre shared the link ?

The error when I take a look in Event Viewer are :

Each description is like this :

Well, on this error did say about password -> Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.InvalidConnectionStringException: Failed to set database connection string. ---> System.ArgumentException: The value's length for key 'password' exceeds it's limit of '128'.

But what password does it refer to ? When I start the VM, I only put the login Admin's password.

Thanks, it seems because of the App Registration.

However one few thing is, I downloaded this VHD once when I still employed, so am using my work account, but now I've resigned and do not have the email already, so I don't have access for login to Azure portal and LCS, may I get advice how am I going to proceed ?

Hi,

Ok, I've created my own "work account" and succeeded to create App Registration, however when I run "Generate Self signed certificate" script, and after key in Application Id, the script ask for Thumbprint, how to get this ?

Hi all,

Thanks. My bad that I choose "Yes". Just realized the script was meant to create the certificate, so I should choose "No".

Too bad this doesn't stated in all those blogs including Microsoft Docs :)

What would be the consequences if Admin Provisioning is Time out and not completed ?

The AXBatch is running and I can open F&O in that VM, but always failed to complete the provisioning. Is there a way to extend the time limit so it will not time out ?

Also just curios, as this is running on VM, does it still require fast internet connection ? since this is using Hyper-V Windows features, but inside VM is very slow.

Actually even my PC now very slow (outside VM) although I have 16G RAM (used 75% while running this Hyper-V). Intel Core i5 10th Generation. The Disk and CPU it self still below 20%.
