Fixed assets - monthly depreciation expense calculation error.

dears,

kindly note that I found an error in monthly depreciation expense amount when run depreciation proposal or see the monthly depreciation expense from the profile screen as shown in the below screen shot: ( fixed asset acquired screen >> value model >> inquiry >> profile.

the problem in the monthly depreciation expense amount calculated in the year which the acquisition date year in it. but the monthly depreciation expense amount is right in second year.

- as you see below: the monthly depreciation expense amounts is 419.18 in the acquisition year 2013.

- the monthly depreciation expense amounts is 416.67 in the second year 2014.

- any one know the solution ?

- note:

- the depreciation method in depreciation profile is: Straight line service life.

- the depreciation run date is the first day in the next month.

- I found this issue in all ax environment which I can connect to them.

Hi Anwar,

Can you provide some more information on the depreciation start date, lifetime and some setup more than only the 'straight line'".?

Can you indicate if there was one or maybe more other postings (like additional acquisition value)?

Dear Andre,

thanks for your interesting.

- the acquisition date is: 30\2\2013

- the depreciation run date is: 1\3\2013

- the service life is: 2 years which is mean: 24 months.

- the setup in depreciation profile is: calender & monthly.

- there is no more posting.

- there is no additional acquisition value.

note: I'm facing this problem in more than environment.

Dear Anwar,

You will get the posted results when the Depreciation convention is set to none.

Try setting its value to "Mid month (1st of month)" at the level of the fixed asset value model as per below:

then you will get the below results

Hi ,

I have also same issue while running the Depreciation .

is there any other impact If we Select Mid Month ( 1st of Month ) in the Depreciation convention in Value Models..

Hi Experts ,

I have also same issue while running the Depreciation .

And i have already uploaded Fixed Asset Cost & Accumulated Dep. opening balance on June 2015 and i run the depreciation for July and Aug 2015 and posted it.

Then i observed that the same issue which had posted on the above with screen shot.

If there any other impact for posted Transactions If we Select Mid Month ( 1st of Month ) in the Depreciation convention field in Value Models..

Awaiting for the Quick revert .
