Changing companies opens IE window with EP

Hi,

Whenever a user changes company in AX 2012, IE opens a new window with the enterprise portal in it. Is there a setting somewhere to switch this option off? I've looked at what happens in the SysDataAreaSelect Form but no clues there, it seems to be triggered only after the form closes.

Also strangely this happens only when changing companies in an existing workspace, not when you click "new workspace" or when you change compabies in the IDE.

Does anybody know more about how this works and how we can turn it off?

I believe we saw this back in AX2009 if the URL to the Enterprise Portal was UPPERCASE. The code behind did a case sensitive compare which caused the browser to be launched and not the internal viewer.

Try change the URL within AX to all lowercase.

Thanks for your suggestion Tommy. I don't think the case of the URL was the cause though as I had a look at the Web sites form and it was the same setup as in a different environment where this behaviour was not witnessed.

But then I had a look at the Collaboration workspace settings and it turned out this was pointing at a non-existent website. After clearing that out, we got rid of the problem!

You are correct. We recently copied our AX 2012 Production environment to Stage and in Stage, each time I changed company, it launched Enterprise portal in a new window.

I checked Web Site configuration and our Stage server was in uppercase. After changing it to lower case, the problem went away.

    Thank you for your suggestion!
