Integration with Website (Ecommerce)

Hi All,

I have a requirement to develop website and which should have to integrate with AX2012(R3).

This is a Ecommerce website - Here the customer can place orders, so orders will be placed in the AX system.

The items should pick from AX2012.

I have development Sample document services in AX2012 and deployed it. And I created Asp.net web application - added AX2012 WSDL URI as services references in visual studio project. Now I can read items from AX2012.  If I deploy this sample application in IIS it reads items from AX2012? outside the network?

Please kindly guide to get this done.

Thanks

K RAM

Is the e-commerce site you mentioned belongs to you? Sites like Amazon often have web services (or api) available. You can use them to send and receive information directly. (I wanted to make sure you were not doing the process backwards)

You'll have your web application running somewhere on one web server. And then you'll have another web server (IIS) in your network, which will receive web service requests from your web application and will pass them to AOS.

Your web application will communicate with AX web services through SOAP.

I agree this point if we access over internet means we need to host in IIS. But for example my site is running at www.shopping.com this asp.net file running at cloud web server(Service references added AX2012)  and AX2012 item service is running at IIS which is in windows server2012. how its communicate?

"The AOS-hosted services are available to users and applications across an intranet. To consume services over the Internet, you must host services on Internet Information Services (IIS). Skip this procedure if you do not need to expose the Microsoft Dynamics AX services over the Internet."

You need services hosted on IIS if you want to access them from outside of your network.
