It was installed by the another implementation partner at customer side. Now, we are the new partner and not sure where are those install files. Apparently, after launching MS support ticket, we have been suggested by MS to install the latest kernel hotfix on AOS and upgrade all the clients too accordingly. Luckily we had very few users so IT team could do it very quickly and issue is no more now.

Its good to store all installed hotfixes. Then you can always update / reinstall any component to the same version you are already on.

If you store them in AX install files' Updates folder, they will even be applied automatically if you install new AX components.

Maybe you can try to find the hotfix from your AX servers? Somebody as installed it at some point so maybe it's still somewhere.

Or you could ask from MS support if they can find which hotfix contained your kernel version.

This is on the local machine of the user and hence needs to be sorted out there only.

My trouble is i cannot find the kernel hotfix of the same version that i need on the link i shared before.

    Hello VDY,

It looks like you are on CU7 with some additional hotfixes. Are you publishing the AX Client, or is it installed locally on computers? Is this happening to everyone or just one person?

You can try deleting the users .auc and .kti files incase its just an old cache from the old version causing the issue.

These files are found on the device which the AX client is executed on. so of its published app on RDS/Citrix. it would be on the users profile on the server located in C:\Users\UserNmae\AppData\Local

from where do i get the exact kernel version installer which i have on my production box?  when i look at below MS page, it doesn't show the kernel version i am in need of. it shows the latest kernel version only.

    Hello VDY,

What this means is that the client the users are using is on an older kernel then the kernel the AOS is running on.

If you are publishing the client to the users from RDS/Citrix. The publishing servers need to be updated with the same kernel version.

If the users run client directly from their computer. then you have to update the kernel version on users device.

Rule of thumb is, if you update kernel on the AOS, you need to update every device that has the client installed.

    Hope this helps!
