Lead Re Routing leads that are historic

Hi All

I am familiar with lead re-routing and have achieved this successfully for new in coming leads.

We have however moved CRMs recently, and migrated leads from Salesforce into Dynamics, so we are sitting with a pretty hefty amount of historic leads with no lead owners.

Is there a way to apply re-routing to a historic database using the existing functionality in Dynamics 365 Sales?

    Hi,

    You have two options -

    1. Create on-demand workflow to route the leads and then use XRMToolBox to execute this workflow against your historic records

    2. Write small console application utility to route your historical leads using crm sdk message

    Re-routing historic leads in Dynamics 365 Sales is achievable, but it may require a combination of system functionality and customization. Here's how you can approach it:

    Bulk Ownership Assignment via Workflows or Power Automate:

    Create a workflow or Power Automate flow that checks conditions for historic leads (e.g., no current owner) and assigns them based on your routing logic.

    Use the same rules you've applied for new leads to maintain consistency.

    Utilize Territory Management Features:

    If your organization uses territory management, leverage it to define rules for automatic ownership assignment based on lead attributes such as location or industry.

    Advanced Find and Manual Reassignment:

    Use the Advanced Find tool to filter leads without owners and manually reassign them. This is less scalable but works for small batches.

    Third-Party Solutions:

    For ease and efficiency, consider using tools like LeadAngel, which can streamline lead routing, including historic data re-routing.
