To, BCC and CC field in CRM

Hello All,

Kind of new to Dynamics CRM but I figured i'd ask if this was possible and maybe get some help.

Currently we have our CRM Email TO BCC and CC fields set up to send emails using client's contact cards which we have set up with their emails.

I was wondering if it was possible to change the To, Bcc and CC fields to accept email addresses rather than contact cards.

Hopefully I posted this in the right place.

Thanks!

    Hey Smokehouse,

Due to the nature of the identified fields, they are somewhat special in the word of Dynamics CRM. These fields are specified as PartyList fields because they allow the user to lookup to the same, or different, record types and add into the same field.

To my knowledge there is no way to get around the functionality of looking up to an existing record rather than entering specific email addresses. As a work around, you could potentially create a separate text field that would allow a user to store comma-separated email addresses, and then a plugin on the PreCreate step of the Email entity to parse them out, lookup to the individual contacts, and generate a PartyList out of the found records.

I wish there was better news for you, but it's how Microsoft has built their activities and this is standard for all (ie. Appointment, Task, Email, etc).

    Thanks.
