Hello guys,
I just created the Item Counting Journal, my requirement is that I will fill the Quantity and Cost Amount, thus the cost price will automatically calculated.
However when I post the journal, suddenly the cost amount is blank and then there is no journal generated.
Is there missing set up in my system?
Thanks in advance for the help,
Regards,
M.H.

Hmm. I find the same. Must be something specific to the Moving average model (although I'm not sure why it doesn't allow you to give a value to inventory you've counted if you don't already have some on-hand).
Personally, I wouldn't spend too long worrying about that for your initial data migration. Instead of using a Counting journal, I would use a Movement journal. If you use a Count Journal, AX will post to the inventory profit account, and I don't think I have ever seen anyone do this during initial data migration. A Movement journal allows you to specify a different account to use as the offset account.
Another advantage with a Movement journal, which I've just tested, is that it allows you to use the Moving average model and value the item as you expect.
Hi Guy Terry,
In my inventory model I have set the Post financial and physical invenotry tick mark.
Btw I just found the cause of my problem.
In my case the Inventory Count only works when I choose the FIFO model group.
While MWA (Moving Average) only works when I have already perform Inventory Adjustment Journal previously.
Is this the correct method?
I use the inventory count for initial data migration.

Hi M.H.
On the Item model group of your items, what is the Inventory model set to?
Hi Nagendra,
I currently try again the process to generate the counting.
This time I use other warehouse/site (my set up is site, Wh).
But now I couldn't generate the ledger journal.
Below is my set up for Inventory Parameter, Site, and Warehouse.
FYI,
I only able to generate ledger in warehouse 0201.
Thanks,
M.H.
Hi Nagendra,
Thanks very much for your advise.
It works very well..

Hi Hasan,
Counting Journals should be created either though on-hand or Items, You can find this on the create menu item on lines, When you select from on-hand system will generate line with on-hand and specified dimensions you will also find on-hand quantity and than you need to key In adjusted quantity and there you can also see the cost amount in the General tab cost amount. Please note when generate Counting journals it is also mandatory to select dimensions if any specific you are maintaining.
Thanks
