The model element has not been successfully compiled. Include it in the current project before attempting to compile again

Hello,

I'm trying to do a test code upgrade and when building a project for application suite VAR model I get the following error:

The model element has not been successfully compiled. Include it in the current project before attempting to compile again.

The problem is that the specified file is in application suite USR model and I can't move it to the current project.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Best regards

You can easily add the element to a new project and compile it there. Also note that you can use Dynamics AX > Build models to build complete models, not just what you have in the active project.

Thank you, Martin. Building this object in another project helped :)

    Hi Martin,

I have the same problem, but the difference is: in my case this is a never ending process. There will be always an element which "has not been successfully compiled", so I have to add them to my project one by one, until I get bored. Okay, building models helps, but it takes time. The main problem is I can't see the form modifications until the DLL file is not been generated, and the generation fails because of the error. Any idea how to prevent model building in every little design modifications to see the affect? The interesting thing is, that sometimes I do not get this error for the same object and project...

    Thanks,

    Balint

    Hi Balint,

I am facing the same problem, there is always an element which has not been compiled successfully. I am facing this after upgrading to application update8 and resolving conflicts. Can you please let me know if already found a solution for this?

    Thanks,

    Giridhar

    Hi Giridhar,

My solution was: doing a full build everytime after TFS 'Get latest version' process. After full build, there is no more 'element which has not been compiled successfully'.

My suggestion is do these processes every time when you finished your workday. In my case we have a script which is doing 'Get latest from TFS' and then full build, and I run it before I leave the office, around 5:00 PM.

    Best regards,

    Balint
