Custom model reference import unavailable in AOT in version 8.1.3 PU 23

Hello,

I have a problem with a deployable package in my development DEVBOX (VM). I can see the "grayed model" (It's our custom model reference) in the AOT in version 8.0 PU23 that refers to an imported model. I can then create an extension of an object belonging to this package.
However, in version 8.1.3 PU23, I don't see anymore the "grayed model" in the AOT.
Is this a version bug?
I performed a manual installation of the DeployableRuntime package but without success.

Do you have any idea about this ?

Kind regards,

Stelvio.

It should definetely work in 8.1.3 PU23.

First I would try to verify if the deployable package was installed succesfully.

You wrote "I performed a manual installation of the DeployableRuntime package but without success." What does this mean? Was it installed succesfully or not? Do you see it in the list of installed models in D365FO UI on your 8.1.3 dev machine?

If you see it in D365FO UI model list, next try to refresh models in your VS.

    I  followed this :

    docs.microsoft.com/.../install-deployable-package

I don't see the package on list in 8.1.3 PU23 but with the same configuration in 8.0 PU 23 I see package on my AOT ..

I refresh models but doesn't  work.

    Kind regards;

I also asked, do you see the model/package in D365FO user interface in "Loaded packages and their models" form? You can see it in the "About" window that can be opened in the "cogwheel" or question mark menu in the top right of the screen, depending on your D365FO version.

Also, could you share a screenshot from your VS so that we can see where you expect to see the model.

How did you end up having 8.1.3 PU23 machine? Did you download a 8.1 machine and then install updates manually? If yes, I think I know what your issue is. When installing the update, you need to update the DefaultTopologyData.xml to include all your D365FO components. By default it includes only AOSService component, and therefore many components such as DevTools are not updated. So, in that case the issue would be in your DevTools, not in your custom model. Please run again the D365FO update with complete DevTopologyData.xml file.

I think we are in this case, we started from version 8.1 PU20 and install updates to 8.1.3 PU23.

Where is the XML file in question? I can't find it..

    Thank you in advance,

    Stelvio.

The file is in the Microsoft update package. Did you read the documentation that I linked in my previous message?

Yes but I dont found information about the XML.

So I need to make update with adding my model in the XML file , right ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Stelvio.

I'm sorry, I shared a wrong link (now it's fixed in my previous post).

    And it's here, too: docs.microsoft.com/.../install-deployable-package

Do you now find the file?

And no, you don't add your model there, you need to list all D365FO components from your machine. Such as DevTools, BIService and so on. More info in the article behind the link.

I have same components in 8.0 and in 8.1.3 version. The difference is that I have more Runbook ID in 8.0...
