Dynamic Segment Builder - Add Query Block - No Entities Appear

We recently installed D365 Marketing.  When we navigate to Segments > New > New Dynamic Segment and Add query block, NO entities appear in the entity drop down.  We confirmed that even the "super" admin of CRM does not see any entities either so it does not appear to be a security role issue.  We have opened a Microsoft ticket, but any ideas why this is happening?  Screenshot below:

*** UPDATE *** when the marketing app is installed, by default, a handful of entities are "sync'd".  If you go to settings > Dataset configuration, you will see entities like "Contact" checked by default.  I found that these are NOT checked!  And they are grayed out.  Is this why no one can see entities?  How do we sync them if they are grayed out?

Did you ever figure out why the entities weren't populating? I'm having the same issue.

    Hi,

Please check if the Change tracking check box of Contact entity is ticked.

You can find this setting by doing the following:

    1. Open the Settings menu pastedimage1642406074061v1.png at the top of the page and select Advanced settings. The advanced-settings area then opens in a new browser tab. Note that this area uses a horizontal navigator at the top of the page instead of a side navigator.
    2. Navigate to Settings > Customization > Customization.
    3. Select Customize the system (or select Solutions and open a solution if your entity is part of a solution).
    4. Find and select the entity you want to sync.
    5. On the General tab for the entity, select the Change tracking check box.
