Bank Transaction import using eConnect

Posted on by 75,730

Has anyone been successful in creating a Bank Transaction import using eConnect? I have this integration that randomly throws this error. The transactions import and all looks well. Right now this application was created as class library dll add on and is loaded by dropping it into the GP add ins folder. Is there any reason why I could not create it as a standalone application? I am beginning to believe it has something to do with the Bank Transaction transaction posting process that kicks in after each check. If I were to move this application outside of GP perhaps whatever conflict is occurring would cease to occur. The number of checks is small in each run. There are about 10-15.

Terry, the issue appears to be related to the bank transaction journal that tries to appear on the screen. We just did another import with that journal turned off and the problem did not occur. My application is throwing a totally unrelated error message. There import works it is just this message that pops up about 'Generic Picture' field not found.

Terry, do you know if any has done this as a class library? I have not had any issues running it as a standalone application. This was the first time I ran it from within GP. The issues appear to be related to conflicts with the GP Bank Transaction posting process.

Hi Richard nice to hear from you!  It looks like from what you stated above the trx do import correctly and yes we have other users that use eConnect to import them and all works.  But this does not look like a typically eConnect error message, but as you indicated probably something with your customization that is calling it.  I will leave the forum post out here in case any of the other developers in the community want to respond on the specific error messages that you are getting, it would not hurt to try your suggestion and see if it works in this case.

    Thanks
