Error when trying to re-enable on-prem Dynamics to Online Exchange connection

After doing the yearly renewal of our SSL Certs on our on-prem CRM server, I am now having trouble with the update process to re-enable the Dynamics 365 Hybrid Connector to allow our on-Prem Dynamics to connect to our Online Exchange.  I am following the instructions in this article: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/dynamicscrm-2016/administering-dynamics-365/mt703269(v=crm.8)
I first exported the cert to both a .cer and .pfx files, then ran step 2 in the article:
$CertificateScriptWithCommand = “.//CertificateReconfiguration.ps1 -certificateFile c://Personalcertfile.pfx -password personal_certfile_password -updateCrm -certificateType S2STokenIssuer -serviceAccount contoso//administrator -storeFindType FindBySubjectDistinguishedName”
Invoke-Expression -command $CertificateScriptWithCommand
At which point I received this error: /
[09/11/2023 10:13:01]  Certificate private key is not found./
