Need a way to compare the Configuration,Parameter & Reference entity type between the legal entities of the same F & O environment.
This is required to find out what was configured in on Legal Entity and is not in aother Legal entity.
Hi Mythe,
You can use DMF to export the related entities, and then compare them in excel. Or ask technician for help with the code.
Hy Mythe,
as Mattguo wrote this is a good approach to use exported DMF entities to keep tracking on configuration paramater of the system. I also used it to compare different legal entities to asure the same setup and configurations.
As the data can multiple entities and sometimes also a lot of records I exported as XML and used a file compare tool the find differences between the configurations, setup and master data.
Hi , thank you for your reply, I tried that , added all the entities of type Parameter, Configuration, Reference & Master. The export job took days to complete. The f & O box i ran this does not have a lot of master information & has only configuration details. I chose all the tables did not pick by type or particular entity. Should I try creating exports per entity type so that the data export will be faster.
as there are a lot of parameter, configuration, reference and masters data entities you should only use these entities you need for your prcocesses. Probably you can reduce run time significant. On my project I had runtime depending of VM size of Azure hosted Environment of 1-3 hrs with with hundreds of xml files.
I used a small LogicApp to execute DMF packapge, store, copy and unzip all files to a defined structure, I compared file content using the file comparision tool reading directories, I was able to screen without wasting time just only differences on the files of the different directories. Wihch data packages and which environments (in your case legal entities) should be used was manifested in an Excel file I read on start of the LogicApp.
I created export data packages just on the entities I'm interested and exported these from the LogicApp. So I was able to exactly see in short time in which environment (e.g golden config vs. test environment) are differences on which entity.
