Account Modifier - Multiple Accounts to One

Posted on by 5

We use distinct G/L accounts to track receivables from employees.  As you can imagine, many of of these accounts are now inactive because the employee has left our employment.  My idea is to create an account for "A/R Inactive employees" and use the modify accounts tool in the PSTL to move the activity from all of these inactive employee accounts to maintain reporting continuity.  So theoretically, we would be moving the data from 20+ inactive employee accounts to this one new account.  I know I would need to backup the database before and rebuild the datamart after but does the account modifier tool allow for this type of account aggregation?

Thanks,

Michelle

Thanks!  This is going to help clean up the G/L tremendously!

The account group ensures that only the relevant screens and fields are displayed and ready for input for each of the customer's different partner functions. For example, the address, communication, and bank data fields are omitted for the account group for one-time accounts. https://www.myiclubonline.onl/

    Hey Michelle,

The PSTL Account Modifier and Combiner would work. You would want to use the Covert Option when doing this.

To be sure, I created one accounts and converted two of my accounts into that one and verified the balances afterwards.

You could do one at a time or create a tab delimited file to do it all at once with the import options.

Be sure to test this first so you are able to verify the end results.

    Thank you!
