Is it possible to import users automatically in D365 based on Azure AD group?

Hi all,

Is it possible to import users automatically in D365 based on Azure AD group?

For example: Company X has 100 active users in Azure, 50 users are assigned to azure group "license-365".

How can I make sure the admin does not have to login into D365 to import the users? The batch to import users imports all 100 users at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Yes, you can schedule a batch to import users on a recurring basis as required.

    Hi Mohamed Amine MAHMOUDI,

    Thanks for your reply.

I am aware of the batch import. However, when running the program ALL users are imported.

I would like to import only the users in the tenant with a specific Azure AD group.

    Kind regards,
    Thomas

    Hi,

We have a similar business case and we automated this process with Power Automate. Its not only about importing the users, you probably want to add a Person (Worker record) to the user, maybe even roles, if you keep AD Groups clean. If you want to create workers, as we do, you need to connect to your HR software that gives you the proper information when does an employee (Worker) starts and in which company, something you may not find in your AD. Going further, if you need ressources (in D365 F&O), then you want also to extend your automated process.

Depending on your business case and software you use, there is a variate of possibilities and sub processes as I mentioned. That is why we are using Power Automate as the full range of processes is not limited to D365.

    Hope it helps, Adis
