After replying to an email, the default email editor section remains unexpectedly small in height.

Is there a way to tweak this and make it use the full height?

(I am aware there is a full screen button as well 😊)

Thanks a lot!

    Hi Elowy,

I have had a look at this one as I was intrigued myself as I thought it would just be quick setting change on the Email Form(s) within Power Apps but its not. I run it through Copilot and you have to modify the msdyn_EmailRTEconfig_referenceonly.js script. The steps are below but I haven’t gone as far as trying this myself but I will do out of curiosity when I have more time. I hope this helps.

To expand the email body description editor by default in Dynamics 365, you can configure the enhanced email experience. Here are the steps to achieve this:

    1. Enable the Rich Text Editor (RTE) Control:

      • Navigate to Advanced Settings > Customize the System > Entities > Email > Forms.
      • Open the Enhanced Email form.
      • Double-click on the Description field to open its properties.
      • Go to the Controls tab and add the Rich Text Editor Control if it's not already added.
      • Configure the control to ensure it expands by default.
    2. Modify the Web Resource File:

      • Access the web resource file by navigating to Advanced Settings > Customize the System > Web Resources.
      • Look for a file named msdyn_EmailRTEconfig_reference.js. If it's not editable, create a new web resource file by copying the content from the existing file.
      • Modify the properties in the new web resource file to set the editor to expand by default. Save and publish the changes.
    3. Map the Web Resource File to the Enhanced Email Form:

      • Save the URL of the new web resource file.
      • Navigate back to Customization > Customize the System > Entities > Email > Forms.
      • Open the Enhanced Email form, double-click on the Description field, and navigate to the Control tab.
      • Map the new web resource file to the form.

These steps should help you configure the email body description editor to expand by default in Dynamics 365
