Service Unavailable when associate with external identity in Dynamics 365 retail

Hi All,

I had downloaded the Dynamics 365 for Operation Nov VM released. I was setting up the retail environment for our upcoming demo next week. However when I try to associate with external identity, it show the service I trying access is unavailable. The same issue I encountered in Aug released, there is workaround by using the email search.

In Nov released, even using email search, it will prompt the same error.

Anyone encounter this before? Any advice is much appreciated.

    1.Ensure User ID(System Administration-->Users-->Users) is created for the "shoaib.hussain@abcd.com" for e mail id and attached "Telemetry ID" (Object ID for login id in Azure is available) and company.

    2.Associate a Worker with AAD User

      Select a Worker and in the Pane "Workers" select a Tab "Retail

      Click on Associate existing identity and enter "shoaib.hussain@abcd.com" which is already created in Users.

    3.Alias,VPN,External Sub Identifiers gets updated in Workers

    4.Replicated Staff Job to POS.

    5.Validate the device with above worker

    6.Open POS,gets activated automatically.

    Can you please share the step whicsssdfh you followed to resolved that issue: my user id is : shoaib.hussain@abcd.com. how should i put the value in 

    Alias:

    UPN

    External sub identifier

    Hi YA TEH,

    It would be quite helpful if you share your findings and how you resolved your issue. It helps no one if you just simply state that it is working now after completing a step. Which step was required?

    If this is not a LCS hosted/provisioned VM, you must provision tenant and admin user correctly. Its all in this wiki: ax.help.dynamics.com/.../access-microsoft-dynamics-ax-7-instances-2.

    Pay attention to the admin provisioning tool (to switch tenant and admin for AX) and the RetailSDKToolsRetailTenantUpdateTool.ps1(to switch tenant and register worker for Retail POS activation).

    I managed to resolved the issue now. The cloud pos is able to activate. I left out a step.

    You can associate a Worker with AAD User another way:

    1. Select a Worker and in the Pane "Workers" select a Tab "Retail"
    2. Click "Edit" button in the toolbar
    3. You will see 3 textboxes grouped under 'EXTERNAL IDENTITY' section, fill them out:
    • Alias: email of the AAD User
    • UPN: email of the AAD User
    • External sub identifier: AAD User's Object ID

    The Object ID can be seen in Azure Portal once you locate the user you need.
