Copy content of a SSRS report

Posted on by 485

Hello Guys, How can we enable the copy/paste option for SSRS report content in preview mode? I have a requirement where users need to copy text from a report and create another file. I don't want them to write/type the values as that would make it prone to error.

When I run the report for example(CustAccountStatementExtReport) I would like to copy some of the figures shown on the report to create my new file. However I don't get a copy/paste menu in mouse right click. I don't get anything at all. I cant even block the text on the report. Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ludwig, the files i am referring to is something we use internally. So from the customer statement report we could write down the amount owed by a customer as of the date of creating the file. We don't need the entire report. If can even get another way to get the amount owed by a customer as of a specific day then I would be grateful for that. I wanted to use the data from the report because I am not very good at morphX programming.

    Hello Lionel07,

You mentioned that you want to create a new file from the customer account statement report.

What kind of file do you want to create and for what purpose?

Can you elaborate what you try to achieve?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Lionel07

If you highlight text in an SSRS report in preview pane, you can copy it. However, that is the wrong way to do things. You can export the report from the preview pane as an Excel spreadsheet or PDF, or as a couple of other formats too.
