I searched the internet a lot for using Power Bi with Microsoft Dynamics 2012 R3 and I found almost nothing.
Any help exploring this area will be most appreciated.

First of all, look at materials that do exist, such as Microsoft Dynamics AX integration with Power BI for Office 365.
If it doesn't answer your questions, please formulate them and write them down here.
Also note that Power BI is a very versatile tool and you can use in many different ways. For example, maybe exporting data to Excel and importing the file to Power BI will meet your requirements. It all depends on business requirements.
Improve your searching skills, because there are plenty of information out there even on this community site if you type PowerBI on the top search bar, and filter it by AX on the left afterwards.
