Seeking script syntax for running Sales Order Import 4010000

I am trying to nail down the exact syntax to call the Sales Order Import (4010000) routine from the command line for a specific input .dta comma-delimited text file. I also have the configuration file for it ready to go.

    Hi BOOMER57,

    Here is an example of a script to run TI on the sales order screen from a command line;

    S:\OM\4010000.exe [TI]TM=2 [TI]TC=c:\DATA\40100.ctl [TI]TD=c:\DATA\salesorder.dta [TI]TO=c:\DATA\Log.log [TI]TL=1 [TI]Minimize=N

    You can adapt it to the names of your files.

    Carolyn

    I have a similar need, more actually towards the lines of creating sales orders automatically using a scheduled tasks/process. I have no problem having the order info in a csv file. Will the process you describe  above require user intervention to 'save' the order? (I am trying to eliminate manual processing, need the order created and saved, so process manager takes it from there).

    thanks for any info on this subject

    Hi Facerone,

    When you use TI to import into a data entry screen, the items imported are automatically saved into a batch unless there are errors.  So no intervention is needed to save the batch if you have a successful import.

    Thanks Carolyn, I will be doing some test next week with TI. First need to build the csv file properly...

    Thank you Carolyn, that was very helpful.

    Two notes about the process I discovered: on the command line, you must NOT surround file and path names with quotes, otherwise it will fail.

    Also, that .data in dta files must not surround text fields in quotes, otherwise errors will be logged.
