duplicate items in counting

hi all is there any option that when i make counting and by mistake i add item twice , before i make post it's give me error that you already add this item before or you have duplicated items is it possible or note because we face this issue with some customer

Hello atef083,

I do not think that AX can execute a check based on the item ID in a counting journal. That is because the item can be stored in different sites, warehouses, ... which requires that you can select the item more than one time. If you need a check whether the very same combination consisting of item, inventory & financial dimensions has been entered in a counting journal you need to make a system modification.

hello ludwing,

OK that fine but if i add by mistake this item id again in the same site same warehouse in a counting journal and

post it will post the quantity twice or what,or there any massage can appear

Hi,

Ideally you can not have such mistake unless you find same item at different places.

Normally, People uses Tag Counting, which then converted to Counting Journal. Hence you should not face such mistake while doing the entry.

However, if you still see the reason of manual mistake, you can go with certain customization in the system, which can further block the standard AX feature.

A suggestion... Export the Journal Lines to Excel. Use Excel functionality to concatenate the combination of fields which should be unique into one column (e.g. ItemId&Site&Warehouse). Check for duplicates on this column.
