The link between General Ledger and Sales Ledger

Posted on by 5

Hi All,

I hope someone could enlighten me with what link between general ledger and sales ledger. We are using Microsoft Dynamic AX 2009 ( very old version) and I would like to have all sales orders number link to finish goods (general ledger account). I am using Microsoft query to our database as I don't know how to use SQL. When I try to link LedgerTrans and CustTrans, Total sum of transaction for Finish Good does not agree with TB.

Thanks very much for your help.

Shu

Thank you very much, Rustem. I don't have AOT in Ax as the system has not been upgraded for years since it was installed. I only have a little bit of knowledge of Microsoft Query. Is there anything you can suggest how I can learn about table relationship?

    Thanks

    Hi Mangosteen!

If you have access to AOT in Ax you can try to check the Relation node of the table and get relations from there.

The LedgerTrans.Posting field contain value about type of transaction (Tax, Cust balance, Vend payments ...).

    Hi Crispin,

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. Sorry I don't know anything about SQL so I am using Microsoft Query to extract data from our database. I have linked CustTrans.Voucher == LedgerTrans.Voucher, CustInvoiceJour.InvoiceId ==CustTrans.InvoiceId (there is no field name called 'invoiceid' on CustTrans table, only 'Invoice' ), I don't understand what it means (LedgerTrans.Posting == LedgerPostingType::CustBalance )

I can see a field name 'Posting' on LedgerTrans table.

    Thanks

    Shu
