MS Dynamics GP E-mail Actions for Workflow

Hello All,

I am trying to approve/Reject/Delegate a task assignment for a pending Purchase requisition Document in MS Dynamics GP.

I receive the email successfully, when I click Approve, a google chrome window open prompting for a username and password, I enter my local AD credentials, then a message appears on google chrome page that says:

The server encountered an error processing the request. See server logs for more details.

Couple things to note:

1- GP webservices is installed.

2- I am opening the email message on the same server that has the GP webservices installed.

3- The need for now is to make this happen within the local network. Approving from outside the network is not an option.

Has anybody encountered this before? Are (E-mail actions) actually doable without logging to GP Desktop Application.

Many thanks

Abed

    Hello Derek,

Actually I made it working, and now all is okay (I can approve/Reject/Delegate) a Dynamics GP PR/PO workflow using the browser.

However, can you advise if there is any way to approve/reject/delegate a PR/PO workflow through a .Net project (such as C#)?

I have gone through the Dynamics GP web services manual (Found here: silo.tips/.../microsoft-dynamics-gp-web-service-programmer-s-guide) but could not find a way to do that within a DotNet application, or to say, there is no method in the GP web services that do that or handle it.

Also, I have gone through the Dynamics GP VS Tools Documentation as well (Found on the Dynamics GP installation DVD) but could not find there anything that handle that either.

I also studied the Workflow SQL tables and how it is changed whenever a PR/PO got approved/Rejected or even progressed the workflow steps but that was very complicated and dangerous, because I think that is not the recommended way of doing that. It has to be done through an API.

Is it even possible to approve/Reject/Delegate a pending PR/PO workflow through a DotNet application (lets say: MVC web application for instance)? Am I missing something? Should I try a different approach?

    Many thanks for everyone's help.

    Best Regards

There's nothing that we have, that I'm aware, such as a .NET project, that allows you to take action on a workflow such as approving, rejecting or delegating to another approver.

Maybe others in the Community have a more specific answer, but we haven't seen or heard anything like what you're asking, thus nothing we'd support.

    Thanks
