Program Could not connect to server NAV 2016

Hi all, 

this is a pretty basic question I guess.. 

how do you connect the client computer to the server? 

Because yesterday we just got a huge lightning strike in our area resulting a short circuit in the modem which we use to connect to the server. Then we replaced the modem and re-setting the configuration like it used to be but the client could not connect to our server. Help would be needed ASAP.

PS what we used to do is just click on the NAV icon, then there will be a box asking us for username and password with a text of our IP Address and sign in.. that's what we usually do..

here is the Server address

    Please check if you server address is changed ? can you ping the server from the client computer ? Also check if the NAV server is running or stopped.

    How do you check if the server address is changed? I am implementing a fixed IP address for the internet connection to the server and how do you ping the server from client computer? the NAV server is running.

    Did you install NAV Server Instance on a separate server or both client and server are on the same computer ?

    NAV server on seperate computer. I tried to run NAV through IP address URL but I couldnt Access them either

    Can you ping the server from the command prompt. Try to login into your server and get the ip address using IPConfig and then ping that address from the client.

    I ping-ed to the server and the server responds.. but I still couldnt connect to the server and it is giving me server not found error..

    1. Check if your service is running.

    2. Check if you service is logged on with the administrator user who is having DB owner permission on SQL.

    3. Try to check if you can run client on server is self.

    4. Turn off the firewall and try on user pc.

    5. Check if the service is configured correctly with the database and port.

    Last one check your event viewer where you service is running for any error message for microsoft dyamics nav.

    1. Yes, server is running.

    2. Yes, the service is logged on with the admin user

    3. Yes, I can run the client on server itself.

    4. Firewall turned off and error still persist

    5. How do you check if the service configured correctly?

    6. Where is the Event viewer?

    5. Open Dynamics Administrator tool to check service configuration.

    6. On the server where your service (Dynamics NAV) is running there you need to find the event viewer.

    OK here is why I got that problem..

    The modem that we replaced does not support an IP and port mapping. Resulting the client computer unable to detect the connection to the server.
