Hi all
I have created new entity, (i.e named myNewEntity )  and make a 1:N relationship from opportunity to that new entity.
So that when I go to the opportunity, my new entity appears in left panel.
when I go to the new entity, in the above appears two options that make me surprised.
I have create new myNewEntity and also add existence myNewEntity !( Bothe options )
How can it be possible since my relation is 1:N and not N:N ??
And when I try to add new record from myNewEntity by add Existing newMyEbtity  CRM returns this error :
This record can not be added because it already has a parent record.

And I gonna ask you why?

    Hi Albert,

You can create objects of the new entity that isn't associated with an opportunity. You can add those as existing.

Hi @Rickard for a fast reply.

Look, Here I have 3146.Capture3.JPG , How ever the relationship from opportunity to myNewEntity is 1:N, It has both add New and add Existing.
And after adding from add Existing gives error
This record can not be added because it already has a parent record.
    Is it Ok?
    What you guess?

Add Existing button is to associate already created record (which is not currently associated with any parent), but if you want to create and associate child record in single go you can use Add New.

    Hope it will help.

    Hi Albert,

This is OOB functionality for I:M relationship, By clicking "Add Existing Record" button, system try to associate the selected child record, but if the child record already associated with any parent record then this error "The record is already associated with another record" will be throw.

The buttons mostly depends upon the Required Level of the parent Id on child entity. Below link will be more helpful for you.

    Thanks-

I think you have got your answer, I was a bit fuzzy in my answer but as you probably understand now, the add existing is used if you have an object that does not have a parent yet and in that case you add a parent to that object. Otherwise you create a new object from the opportunity and that will be set as parent.

    Regards
