Upgrade from CU7 TO CU9

Hello All,

Our company is Planning to upgrade from cu7 to cu9 . So want to know how long its gonna take and whats are all the steps involved. we have 3 environments DEV,TEST and LIVE ,which instance is good to start upgradation ?

There is documentation that describes it in details https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/apply-updates-and-hotfixes

Literally you need to apply new CU to AOS, clients and other components like report server, merge code, run data upgrade scripts if any, compile, sync and deploy test. Then deploy model store to other environments.

Hi,

You can find documentation here: docs.microsoft.com/.../upgrade-scenarios

Your scenario is upgrading to AX 2012 R2. Note that the mainstream support for this version has ended. If possible, have a look if you can upgrade to AX2012 R3 or probably Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.

As I don't know anything about your environment, it would be impossible to say anything about the duration. But for sure, don't forget to test carefully.

It depends on amount of changes you have and can take from hours to months for heavily customized solution.
