    Hi Ashok,

PR creation is a manual process in standard AX.

Automation for triggers configured as Item coverage(min.max) is only available with Master Planning. The results will be Planned Orders (Planned Purchase Orders, Planned Transfer Orders or Planned Productions Orders) based on teh default order type configured on the item coverage. The Planned orders can be subsequently be firmed into POs, TOs or ProdOs (manually or auto-firmed based on coverage group configuration).

    Kind regards,

    Hi Ashok,

It is not possible without customization. Master Scheduling however can run as a batch.

Can you expand on why you want to use Purchase requisition as opposed to Master Planning to manage inventory levels?

You might argue that PR for inventory is unnecessary -the need to purchase has already been defined and arguably approved  by either the coverage policy ( i.e. in this case MIN max) or because its implicitly approved when you entered the demand (or why enter a demand you are not going to fulfill?) i.e.the sales order/forecast/transfer order - so the control should be on the policy, or the demand.

MRP will auto plan orders based on those demands -so approving those planned orders gives another level of control.

You can also put an approval workflow on the PO e..g to review cash flow, or which vendor, or latest price without need to then go through a PR also.

If you are buying repeat items then Vendor and price will have been contractually agreed i.e. approved,  for the year or at least for a reasonably large time or quantity,  in a call off contract order.

That way the system works for you rather than you work for the system.

If you are using  ABC concept then this is suitable for B and C items and generally those will be purchased infrequently, and thus you can focus attention on the relatively few, and highest value A items.

If you want to automate then you could try to  extract all items, with the on hand less than Min, and then  calculate vs Max and pack sizes/min order quantity values,  what quantity to push those back into a PR via import .....but Ax mrp will do a  better job, with a lot less effort.

There may still be a small proportion of new items, or emergency spares, to got through PR  process, but those probably will not be managed by  min max anyway.
