PowerBI Template doesn't show data

Hey there,

I'm new to Dynamics 365 Guides. I built a showcase and downloaded the PowerBI Template from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=57767 and followed the steps from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/mixed-reality/guides/analytics-guide

I see my guides and 4 tables (Events, Guides, Runs, SourceEvents). My table "Events" doesn't show any data. The table sourceevents shows the raw data. How do I connect these tables to show data on my report pages?

I have the same question (0)

Hey Ryan, thanks a lot. This solved my problem. I thought using the guide as operator with both licenses assigned would track the events.

Have you checked all the filters properly?

Sometimes Filters get neglected as if they don't exist.

Filter set on date needs to catch your data.

If the filter on date is proper, you would not find any inconsistency.

    Regards.

Also, one more thing to note is that the data that populates this dashboard is only for users that have the Operator role assigned to them docs.microsoft.com/.../assign-role

If you would like to include author role data in the report here are the steps to change the reports:

How to modify the Guides Analytics PowerBI report so that it includes AuthorInPreview run times.

Step 1: Open the report in PowerBI Desktop and click the ‘Edit Queries’ button from the Home tab.

Step 2: Inside the Power Query Editor window, use the left side pane to select the ‘Events’ query

Step 3: With the ‘Events’ query selected, look in the Query settings panel on the right hand side. Under ‘Applied Steps’ select the step that reads “Select only rows where UserMode …”

Step 4: In the function editor bar, edit the query as follows:

    • The bar currently reads:

    • Change it to:

Step 5: Use the top menu button to ‘Close & Apply’ your changes.

    HI Daniel

Thank you for posting this question.

A few things to check while we investigate:

    • Check the 'filter date range' in the bottom left is set correctly to capture your run throughs

    • Check that the guide selected in the drop down at the top of the report is one that has run throughs

    Thanks

    Ryan
