How to copy existing integration

I am brand new to IM and to this forum.

I would like to create a copy of an integration that was set up by the technician so I could use it for similar journal entry integrations but I do not want to take changes with this process. Can someone please give me a step by step process of copying an existing integration. I intend to change the Integration name and the name of the source file only. Everything else should remain the same if that does not present problems.

My integration has one source.

Thanks,

Ben

Create an IM database somewhere locally (Open IM>Tools>Create DB>Browse out and name it) and then launch your new IM database and import the desired Integration into it. Go back into your production install and chose to import integration.  Select the new one you have saved locally (which is the one you want to copy) and import it. During the import you will be prompted to rename the integration and the source file.  Now you have a copy.

Donnette - Thanks for your advice. I will try what you suggested on Monday. Once again, thanks. - Ben

I do not see Create DB under Tools in IM. I only see Object Browser; Registration; & Options under Tools. Could it be that I do not have rights to 'Create DB'?

What version IM are you on?  We're running 11.00.1269

I have a legacy install of V9 and it's not an option. Sorry.  Have you tried save as?  (file>save as) That worked for me on the V9.  You may need to go to the source file folder and make copies for the sources then remap to those also.

File > Save As worked to crearte a copy. Now I am trying to tweak on the copy to re-map it so it pulls the data from the new source file. Do you have tips on how to do this.

Right click and remove the source file.  Then add the new one.  If the column names are the same in the 2 source files mapping should be fine.

Donnette - Thank you so much. I managed to re-map the new Integration and its now pulling the data from the correct source file.

However, I have to work on the 'Sorting' though because the journal entries are sorted different when they get imported to GP but I am not quite sure how to fix the Integrations such that the order for the my entries is not changed. Does anyone know how to make IM to not change the sorting?

Sorting options are in your source file.  If the logic is not there for sorting you can add an incremental  number column and then sort by that column ascending - that would keep everything in order.

Sounds like you're new to IM.  You'll get the hang of it.

(FYI - Try to upgrade that legacy version soon!  Very soon!  I have a few V 9 service packs if you need them.  I also have the hotfix to jump to 2010. I don't think MS has them posted any longer since V9 is not supported.)
